Kinda came in one of the chat groups I’m in. Obviously a troll. Total newb account, didn’t wanna talk about anything… Was just after sniping people over the “life” they lack. Silly. (^_^)

So… What is this “life” thing I need to get? What would I have to do to get this “life” and what would I do after I got it? How do I know I don’t have a life. This is funky stuff. Is there some sort of recipe? I’m all confuzzled and stuff. (O.o)

The onscreen instructions will tell you the rest.  You can run up to 4 hours per session and boost your time at any time.  If you forget to reset it, the timeout will set the stream back to default for you. (^_^)

Immycast DJ setup =^-^=

I had a friend ask about the tech-specs of what I’m running to stream my music inworld. (^_^)

So… Lemmee see if I can’t make this too confusing. (>_<)

For one… I didn’t want to spend much money.  While I ~DID~ buy MorphVOX Pro, the only other thing that costs is the Shoutcast streaming host.  That said, the software I used is:

Now, be careful that you don’t get the Shoutcast DNAS.  That’s the server.  Odds are, a home interwebs drop won’t have enough bandwidth to host a good sounding stream to 40 or so listeners.  Shoot for the Winamp DSP plugin. (^_^)

Now… How do I use the frigg’n stuff? (O.o)

Okay, here’s the fun part.  I don’t ~ACTUALLY~ use Winamp… Just the Shoutcast DSP.  I set it to output to the streaming host… Password and all.  Encode via MP3 @ 192kbps, 44.1kHz, Stereo (Yes, good sound quality!).  Finally, I set the Input Device to “Soundcard Input” << Now, there’s the secret.  What that final setting does is get the whole mixdown of your sound stuff, encode it, and stream it out to the host.  (^_^)

So… Basically… If you can hear it through your speakers, so can your listeners. (^_^)

That said; MUTE EVERYTHING ELSE! DX

So, like, SL has all sounds muted, Skype, Gtalk, Windows… All sounds gotta be cut.  (>_<)

Yeah, I know you like all the blips and bloops and dings, but, not while streaming, hokays? (^_^)

Okay… So, How do I feed this all up? (^_^)

Not too hard. (^_^)

Mixxx just plays live.  Master goes to whatever your speaker out is. (^_^)

MorphVOX is set to “Listen”… So that mess gets to the speakers. (^_^)

And the mic is just a mic… Though, I cheated.  I’m using a stage vocal mic on a boom stand with a Behringer EuroRack UB1002 to EQ the sound and control the volume a bit. (^_^)

For the stream host, I port my little butt to 3FX where they offer L$ funded stream hosts… Which work very well, I might add.  So far I’ve used their L$199 24hour, 100 listener service a few times with no problems.  Just follow the sign that says “Streams”.  (^_^)

And, that be that! =^-^=

BUT!!!  I have different plans today!  I got my own stream server for a good price and I’m gonna try out SAM Broadcaster.  I’ve already found that it has a nicely controllable compressor.  I wanna sound gooooood. =^-^=

Well, I frigg’n mean it.  SUNDAY! December 5th, from 11am to about  12 or 12:30pm… Come down to NCA(Adult) for Immy’s Sunday Nooner!  It’s gonna be Rock.  It’s gonna be Metal.  It’s gonna be Alternative.  But, most of all…It’s gonna be LOUD! XD

Help me make movies in a way that doesn’t suck… (._.)

Simple enough, no? (^_^)

Well… Not so simple. (._.)

Okay, so far I’ve done most of my recent recording using CamStudio… Which I totally love. =^-^=

Since I’m just doing little screwball things, I ain’t gonna pay money for this stuff… So, I use Windows MovieMaker.  It works for me.  So, sue me… Okay, it WORKED for me. DX

Past tense… Worked!  So, what happened?  Recently Windows Live had some big-butt upgrade and it’s like ready for 2011 or something.  Either way, the apps got changed.  And, that’s where my troubles started. DX

It’s also something I’ve sorta seen in the past, but, when playing really old games.  It’s a tough thing to screen-grab because Windows often renders everything just fine… It’s when it reaches my frigg’n card that there’s a problem.  (>_<)

Okay, enough of the how often and since when… Here’s the what.  Starting with my attempt to play SimCity3000 (which is the one that ruled best, I might add).  So, I got the game to launch and the menus to respond to my clicks, but, the screen looked like scrambled porn from the 1980s! DX  I mean… If you squint, I’m sure you’d spot a nipp… Oh, hang on. (O.o)

Okay, so, anyway… Graphics futzed on SC3K… S’okay, right?  It’s a frigg’n old game and I should expect compatibility issues.  later on, I try Black&White… Ick, that was a tough one to get running… But, thanks to a couple websites and I think even a plugin I got it to bloody launch… With the same frigg’n problems SC3K had! DX  S’okay, right?  This game was notorious for being incompatible with Vista and Win7. (._.)

…. But, I like those games. (._.)

Anyway… I’m making little videos in SL and ‘producing’ them in MovieMaker… Totally taking advantage of the “Send video to Youtube” feature that bumps my vids up on-the-fly with name description and all… Teh hawtnezz, that is. =^-^=

Then… Bloody upgrade to bloody Windows Life 2011 or whatever rot they tried to pawn on me.  So, sure, I’ll bite.   What could go wrong?  Well……… (-_-)

So, there it is… The screen artifacts, freaky misalignment, stuttering performance, and general un-use-ability! DX

GAH!!!! DX

So, I figure my video card/drivers are having an issue, but, something that only happens on a specific arrangement.  Now… Live Movie Maker has that specific arrangement since I updated it. (._.)

So… Frigg’n solutions! How do they work!? (>_<)

Maybe I could downgrade Live and at least get Movie maker back.  I dunno… Maybe someone out here knows what’s going wrong and just points it out to tell me “Turn this off” or “Turn this on” and happy happy times return.  I dunno… Maybe someone knows about a killer freebie movie editor that exports stuff that works fine and fast with Youtube without jumping through hoops. (>_<)

I’m open to suggestions… Lemmee know… I sure as heck can’t fix this myself. (._.)
