Words I just plain don’t like. (>_<)

I’m picky about words.  If y’all read here before you probably remember the dood who got all worked up because I wouldn’t say “yes” or “no”.   It’s just the way I am. (>_<)

Then again… Look at my use of misspellings and Californiese and you’re probably all “LOLWUT?!” on me already. =^-^=

But, anyway… There are a bunch of words that I purposely avoid using because the way I interpret them goes against my way of thinking.  I been looking at it lately, reading back in old forum threads and messages from the August madness a couple years back.  Quite a few words got flung around that make me really wonder where people were coming from. (O.o)

Though… Context is generally an issue. (._.)

The words themselves are illusions.  I don’t like taking illusions literally.  If ever I do use the words, they will usually be wrapped in quotes because I either want to make a mockery of the term or I really don’t want to be taken seriously or literally for using it. (>_<)

First word: “Power” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/power See definition 4. (-_-)

I hold a hope that each words exists for a reason.  I think “power” gets mistaken for “ability” or “privilege” too much.  “Power grab” assumes someone’s authority is being taken by another… Assuming this authority existed in the first place.  What does it mean to be “powerful” when there’s always someone smarter stronger and faster right around the corner? (-_-)

Word Two: “Authority” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/authority You’ll see “power” used a lot in the definitions.  Pattern, no? =^-^=

But, really, that’s an annoying word.  Anyone claiming “authority” that wasn’t rewarded to them by others, to me, is a very small person.  Someone who likes to leverage old-world social status cues in order to place themselves high on delusional pedestals.  People who believe they’re above defiance will surely embrace the word.  A rug that’s so easily pulled out from under them. =^-^=

Three: “Influence” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/influence yet another “power” word. DX

We’re all adults here.  Not babies, doggies, sheep, or lemmings.  Someone who claims “influence” one way or the other, in my mind, really lost faith in humanity.  It’s a word I had to face quite a bit.  People say I “influenced” a “powerful” portion of a group.  Not taking into account that this “powerful” portion was rarely if not never in contact with me, or at least not on casual speaking terms.  The way I see it, my significance is being elevated to a realm I don’t even recognize. (O.o)

So, yeah… These are words I’ve heard used to describe me.   Why? I dunno.  I personally don’t see myself in any position of “power”, “influence”, or “authority”.  Just as much as I don’t see anyone else with any grasp of such roles. (-_-)

AH! But, maybe that’s it! (o.o)

When faced with someone deluded by their own sense of superiority, pride won’t let them assume they’re down to my level.  Not as much as they assume I’m elevating myself to their fantastic realm.  Holy crap, I should have thought of this a long time ago!!! DX

It’s a wicked world we live in.  A world where those most deserving of privilege and understanding are shadowed by those who assume “power” and “authority” in order to force privilege upon themselves and demand attention… Even when their words mean nothing at all. (^_^)y
