Frigg’n Immy’s Frigg’n Digits! =^-^=

Who else read’s Strawberry Singh’s blog?  I do! =^-^=

She been posting up a few articles about avatar proportion and height.  A subject that interests me quite a bit.  Given, I’m usually a bit short. XD

How short, you ask!?  Well… Okay, you probably didn’t ask, but I’m one to be cheesy that way. (^_^)

According to this thing I’m 5’3″. (^_^)

immys-digits

That don’t bug me none.  I kinda want to be 5’0″, but, recent neck adjustments have offset that. (>_<)

So, anyway… My digits.  I’ll share what SS shared. (^_^)

Height: 10
Body Fat: 12
Head size: 50
Torso Muscle: 36
Breast Size: 63
Arm length: 76
Hand size: 17
Torso length: 26
Love Handles: 20
Belly Size: 0
Leg Muscle: 30
Leg length: 36
Hip width: 39
Butt Size: 40
Saddle Bags: 33

I think those numbers are enough to make me a chunky little munky. =^-^=

Now, for the Proportions Challenge Questions~ Dun-du-da-duuuun!~

Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – Yes.  I simply want to look good and I think part of looking good is being some sort of believable and natural form.  I’m not saying realistic.  Just enough so that people can believe that I have some sense of reality. (^_^)

What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – I don’t like how the tummy joins with the chest.  It could have been made far more flexible.  Instead what we get is tummy-block mates with chest-block and if they hit any offset from each other, they just shear, overlap, and split.  This ain’t so bad when standing still, but when dancing, it’s really yucky! (>_<)

Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? – Yes, it do!  I mean, to each their own.  But I don’t have to like it.  Like, when I see a 7′ tall amazonian thingamabob with legs twice as long as their torso, I totally go all judgmental on them in my head.  Like, do they even realize how crooked and wonky they are?  Or are they just trying to machismo up and be taller than everyone else because tall is power? (O.o)

Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? – Naw.  People should do what they like.  It’s a matter of freedom gifted to us by our virtual reality.  At the same time, people should realize the glass house they’re in when they’ve determined that another’s shape is “wrong” and do things like ban each other or make wild and potentially criminal accusations. (>_<)

I have a particular line in my estate’s covenant.  It’s this:

This sim is to be constructed to-scale.  Meaning the meter will be honored as-is and “short” avatars will be considered proper adult height.  Avatars taller than 1.8 meters in real prim height will be considered creatures of fantasy and lore and will NOT be used as reference in order to falsely accuse properly scaled avatars of being depictions of children.

My sim, my rules.  No? =^-^=

  1. Omg YES to the tummy/chest join! I spend a LOT of time editing this region in photos. I will often forgo using an otherwise lovely pose if this becomes too much of an issue!

  2. Awwwwwww, you are so adorably short, love it! <3

Nice! Thanks for sharing. My usual shape is still around 6 foot… which seems silly seeing as how the RL me isn’t even that tall. I’ve been meaning to do some retuning lately… mind if I steal with pride?
